Vertical Flame Resistance Test (Textiles)

ASTM D6413 is the foundational vertical flammability test referenced across major North American industrial workwear standards (including ASTM F1506 and NFPA 2112). A conditioned textile specimen is suspended vertically inside a specialized draft-free cabinet, and a standardized methane flame is applied to the lower edge for exactly 12 seconds.

EN ISO 11612 European Garment Standard

Flame Spread & Heat Exposure Testing

EN ISO 11612 is the international performance benchmark for protective clothing against heat and flame. The testing protocol evaluates limited flame spread (ISO 15025 Code A1 surface ignition and Code A2 edge ignition) to ensure zero hole formation, no flaming to edges, and no melting or dripping, alongside convective and radiant heat transfer resistance.

ASTM F1930 / NFPA 2112 Full-Scale Flash Fire Test

Instrumented Thermal Manikin Flash Fire Evaluation

ASTM F1930 is the full-scale simulation test mandated by NFPA 2112. A lifesize, instrumented manikin equipped with 110+ calibrated thermal sensors is dressed in a complete protective garment ensemble and exposed to a controlled hydrocarbon flash fire for 3 seconds (target heat flux: 84 kW/m² / 2.0 cal/cm²·s). Computer software calculates predicted 2nd and 3rd degree body burns.

Electric Arc Rating (ATPV / EBT) Determination

ASTM F1959 is the standard test method for determining the arc rating (ATPV or EBT) of flame-resistant textile materials for electrical safety workwear (NFPA 70E / ASTM F1506). Fabric panels equipped with temperature sensors are positioned at calibrated distances around a high-voltage electric arc discharge to measure heat transfer and calculate the energy threshold in cal/cm².
